Hi Everyone!
Well…with much consideration and a scheduling
mess with the BBR Finals taking over our weekend in April, we have FINALLY chosen a date for the 2008 show in Topeka.
We had hoped to just shift it a week earlier or later but Expo’s schedule wouldn’t work for that. So, in
2008 we have chosen the Memorial Day weekend. May 22-25, 2008. In 2009, we have reserved the first weekend in
May to get back a little earlier in the spring. Please let your members know the new dates and if any of you see anything
calendar-wise that I have completely overlooked that would conflict greatly with this weekend, please let me know ASAP.
Thank you.

Important Member Info!
Regional and Super Show Update
The Cowboy National will be held in conjunction with a new Super Show in Amarillo, Texas. Like wise
the Heartland National Show will be held during the Drysdales Super Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Each of these shows will be three days long with separate Open races on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Sunday's race will be designated as the National contest, with prizes awarded Saturday night. On Sunday we will award
saddles to the top money winners in each division of the Open Super Show. These shows are open to any NBHA members,
and all entrants will be eligible for the National prizes. More saddles, less travel expense!
How many National Shows may a member compete in? An NBHA member may run
at all Super Shows and the Western National, and may choose one of the following National Show: Mid-South, Dixie, Colonial,
or Great Lakes.
Youth World Championships
Here We Grow Again!!!!
For the 2008 Youth World Championships, riders will qualify in the Youth (12 and under) and the Teen (13
and over) category.
This means that twice as many Youth from your district can qualify for the fabulous Youth World Championships
held in Jackson, Mississippi each year. We will use our existing standings, figured with the Youth class
as we have always done. We will not go back and split out the Teen and Youth into two different classes.
We have a possibility of filling 10 spots.
A child's qualifying age is determined by their age on January 1, 2008. Anyone born on or after January
1, 1995 is a Youth rider. Anyone born before January 1, 1995 is a Teen rider.
It has been suggested that we keep point for the most money spent with our sponsors. If you will bring in a copy
of your receipts, with your name on them, you will get point for them. THESE POINT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL
YEAR END POINT FOR OUR SHOWS.
We are going to try something new this year as a fund raiser. Cause we all know it takes money, along with your help
to run these shows.
For every $25 over your $75/200 (take off money) we will wave 1 hour of your work time. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND
THAT I WILL STILL NEED HELP TO RUN THE SHOWS. SO DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY.
As a fund raiser this year!!!!! T-shirts!!! $18.95
I will have them with me at the barrel races. After the people that have asked for them get theirs. We have
a few left. Please let me know if you want on.
